Join the Heartland Communications Facility Authority Team

Heartland Communications Facility Authority (HCFA) is seeking a motivated, organized, and dependable Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the organization and helping ensure our staff and public safety partners have the administrative support they need to serve our community.

About the Position

The Administrative Assistant provides professional administrative and clerical support to HCFA staff and leadership. Responsibilities may include preparing correspondence and documents, maintaining records and files, assisting with reports, processing accounts payable and receivables, responding to inquiries, and supporting various projects and organizational activities.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively with others are essential. While this position is traditionally entry-level, we are open to all candidates with various skill and experience levels.

Full Time Fire Communications Dispatchers

Heartland Communication fire dispatcher recruitment is continuous and ongoing.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate remains calm under pressure, communicates clearly, learns quickly, and adapts to evolving situations. Strong multitasking skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, familiarity with public safety radio systems, and the ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (days/nights/weekends/holidays) are essential. Prior experience in a public safety answering point (PSAP) is highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid typing certificate (minimum 35 WPM)
