Dispatch Celebrates NPSTW 2025 with a Magical Disney-Themed Week
This year, the Employee Recognition and Public Outreach working group once again created an unforgettable celebration for our team during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW)! The 2025 theme, Dispatch Goes Disney, brought magic, creativity, and a lot of fun to the center.
Throughout the week, staff embraced daily Disney-themed dress-up days. The festivities kicked off on Sunday with Jungle Book and Lion King attire, capturing the spirit of “It’s a jungle out there.” Monday turned heroic with Marvel – Dispatchers Assemble. On Tuesday, everyone partnered up for Toy Story day, showing that "you’ve got a friend in me." Wednesday explored emotions with Inside Out Day, while Thursday transformed the center into the Magic Kingdom – The Happiest Center on Earth. Friday let staff "chill like a villain," featuring their favorite Disney villains, and the week wrapped up with a galaxy far, far away on Star Wars Saturday.
Adding to the celebration, our partner agencies generously provided meals for our crews throughout the week. Lunches and dinners were delivered Monday through Friday, courtesy of HFR, SYC, SNT, BON, LKS, VJS, ACP, SMG, and BBB. Their support made the week even more special and greatly appreciated by all.
The working group also decorated the ECC and hallways with Disney-themed flair, setting a festive tone. Fun games like Hidden Mickeys, Trivia, Complete the Lyric, Disney Debates, and the ever-popular Bean Boozled Challenge kept the excitement going all week long.
As in years past, raffle baskets returned, allowing team members to earn tickets based on achievements like years of service and EMD scores. The raffle prizes created lots of anticipation and added to the celebratory spirit.
NPTSW is also the time of year when the Dispatcher of the Year and Top EMD Performer are announced. Congrats to Shannon S. (Dispatcher of the Year) and Ashley P. (Top EMD Performer).
HCFA and the Employee Recognition and Public Outreach working group extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and helped make the 2025 celebration so memorable. It was a true team effort, and we look forward to many more magical moments together in the future!
