HCFA Staff Shine at NENA 2025 in Long Beach, CA
From June 21–26, 2025, emergency communications professionals from across the nation gathered at the Long Beach Convention Center for the NENA 2025 Annual Conference & Expo. HCFA was well‑represented, both in leadership and on the conference floor, actively shaping the success of the event.
This years conference included over 90 hours of educational sessions covering topics like NG9-1-1, cybersecurity, GIS, AI, and wellness. There was also pre-conference training courses, including Center Manager Certification. Attendees were inspired by keynote speaker Suneel Gupta, who emphasized “energy management,” and engaged in valuable networking opportunities. The Expo Hall showcased cutting-edge technologies, where staff connected directly with leading 9-1-1 solution providers.
Because this year’s conference was hosted in California, the CALNENA Board, including HCFA’s own Jeff Logan had the crucial role of organizing and running the event along side the National NENA Board of Directors. Their leadership was unrivaled, delivering a top‑notch experience characterized by engaging sessions, seamless logistics, and community spirit.
Throughout the four‑day event, numerous HCFA staff attended sessions, staffed volunteer duties, and engaged in peer-to-peer events. From breakout sessions and keynote presentations to workshops and the bustling Expo Hall, HCFA’s presence was felt across the spectrum. Director Logan also was part of a panel session on Recruitment, Retention and & Training in 911 Centers. While their schedule was intensive, especially for those volunteering, these events remains one of the best ways for HCFA staff to stay connected and informed in the ever-evolving 9‑1‑1 landscape.
