HCFA Staff Assist with SR911 CAD Go Live

HCFA Operations Manager Johnson and Management Analyst Nettleton recently had the opportunity to travel to Modesto, California, to support a fellow 911 dispatch center, Stanislaus Regional 911 (SR911), during a major technology transition. This collaborative visit highlighted the strong partnership between regional emergency communications agencies and reinforced the importance of sharing knowledge and expertise.

SR911 was in the process of implementing the Central Square Enterprise Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, an important upgrade that would enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. Having previously worked with this platform, Heartland Communications staff were well-positioned to assist SR911 throughout the transition, providing hands-on guidance, technical insight, and practical support.

For HCFA, the experience proved equally valuable. SR911’s deployment utilized a newer version of the Central Square CAD software that HCFA plans to adopt in the coming months. This provided Heartland staff with an early opportunity to gain firsthand experience with upcoming system enhancements, helping to ensure a smoother and more informed upgrade process in the future.

Over the course of the two-day visit, staff from both agencies worked closely together, exchanged best practices, and strengthened professional relationships. The trip underscored the benefits of regional cooperation and the shared commitment to improving emergency communications services.

This collaborative effort serves as a powerful example of how California’s 911 dispatch centers continue to support one another through innovation, teamwork, and mutual dedication to public safety. By working together, agencies like HCFA and SR911 help ensure that communities receive the highest level of service when it matters most.
