HCFA Staff Join Regional Public Safety Symposium to Strengthen 911 Services

Collaboration is one of the most important tools in public safety, and last week, eight HCFA team members demonstrated that commitment by participating in a regional Public Safety Symposium hosted by the El Cajon Police Department.

The symposium brought together 911 professionals from agencies across Southern California to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing today's PSAPs. Topics included recruitment and retention, staffing, interoperability, increasing call volumes, and the future of emergency communications. Through open discussions and shared experiences, participants exchanged ideas and explored solutions that can help strengthen 911 services throughout the region.

One of the highlights of the day was the enthusiastic participation from HCFA staff. All Heartland employees volunteered to attend, reflecting a genuine commitment to growing professionally and helping shape the future of the emergency communications field. Their willingness to engage in these conversations demonstrates the dedication they bring not only to their careers, but to the communities they serve every day.

At HCFA, learning doesn't stop when the shift ends. Investing time in training and collaboration helps ensure our telecommunicators are prepared to meet the evolving needs of our community while continuing to provide the high level of service our residents, first responders, and partner agencies rely on.
