Management Analyst Nellis Retires after 22 Years at HCFA
This past week was a bittersweet one at HCFA as we celebrated the retirement of one of our very own and one of our favorites, Management Analyst Valerie Nellis.
Over the past 22 years, HCFA has seen multiple Directors and numerous changes to the Board of Chiefs and Commission. Through all of that change, one constant has remained: Valerie. Her steady presence, dedication, and institutional knowledge have been a cornerstone of our agency for more than two decades.
Throughout her tenure, Valerie wore many hats and played a vital role in HCFA’s success. From Budget and Accounts Payable/Receivable to Human Resources, Benefits, Payroll, and Grant Management, just to name a few. Her work touched nearly every part of the organization. Her professionalism, leadership, and willingness to always step in where needed made a lasting impact on HCFA and the agencies we serve.
Over the past few months, we’ve had many opportunities to celebrate Valerie and thank her for her years of service. Last week, we were honored to host her retirement luncheon, and it was truly special to see so many colleagues, especially from the Admin Section, come together to support and celebrate her. These moments reflected the respect, appreciation, and friendships Valerie built during her time with HCFA.
HCFA is incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to work alongside Valerie for 22 years. While we will certainly miss her, we are grateful for all she has given to this organization and proud to celebrate her many accomplishments. We wish Valerie health, happiness, and all the amazing things she deserves in this next chapter of her life.
Thank you, Valerie, for 22 incredible years of service to HCFA. Congratulations on your well-earned retirement!
